Have you ever gone through a ‘Bruce Lee’ phase before?
Before Bruce Lee created Jeet Kune Do, he went around learning from different masters.
Absorbing. Synthesizing. Evolving.
This allowed him to combine the best of everything into one cohesive method.
The Jeet Kune Do.
I realized I'm in my own "Bruce Lee phase" right now.
But instead of martial arts masters, I'm learning from business mentors.
And eventhough I’ve been in consulting for awhile now, it’s surprising how much I’m still learning every day.
In this way, business can be kind of like playing a game.
You learn a build, master it, outgrow it, then learn another build.
Over time, you master enough ‘builds’ that you simply create one of your own.
Until then, you stick to the rules and do your best to avoid getting distracted by shiny objects.
Being in a Bruce Lee Phase doesn’t benefit just you.
It benefits everyone around you.
Your clients get better results.
Your team gets to have a better leader.
Your folks enjoys a more present (and less stressed) version of you.
Because as the business person grow, so too will the business.
That’s the plan for me right now.
I want to be the best damn businessman I know.
